These watches are examples of the two models produced by the Nashua Watch Co. No. 1036 is a 19J example while No. 1219 is a 15J example.

No. 1036 is believed to be the personal watch of Charles S. Moseley. The patent regulator was developed at the Elgin Watch Co. by an associate of Moseley.

Watch 1036 has the assembly number 136 under the dial and on the balance cock. The visible serial number is constructed by adding a "0" after the 1. This pattern has been found on all the 19J Nashua examples examined in the serial range 1001 to 1099. There is one 19J example with a serial number in the 1201 to 1299 range, but it has "Waltham" style jewelling with the centered jeweled and no cap jewel on the pallet arbor.

Watch 1219 has the assembly number 219 under the dial and on the balance cock. The visible serial number is constructed by adding a "1" in front of the serial number. This pattern has been found on all the 15J Nashua examples examined in the serial range 1201 to 1299. All these watches are 15J with the exception of the 19J example noted above.

The Nashua watches engraved with the Waltham signature are all 19J but the ones with assembly numbers below 200 have Nashua jewelling with the pallet arbor capped and no jewels on the center arbor while those with assembly numbers above 200 have center jewelling and no cap jewels on the pallet arbor.
